I would like to inform all our guests and fans supporting this event, that Michael Learned will be unable to be on the west coast for the 40th reunion events due to her role in “The Outgoing Tide” in Delaware. I am posting a letter I have just received from Michael to all. My best wishes go out to Michael, as I’m certain her new role will be a great success.

Dear Ray
I am so sorry I won’t be able to attend your wonderful fundraiser for Kami’s school. As you know, when an actor has the good fortune to be employed it is impossible to say no! Especially at my age! I love the play I’ll be doing in Delaware (The Outgoing Tide) and am only sad that it conflicts with your dates. I know your event will be entertaining and heartwarming and I’m so disappointed to have to miss it. Please tell our Walton’s fans that I cherish their devotion to the show, that I am sorry I will miss being with them, but that I know it will be a lot of fun for them and the cast. And . . . it’s for a great cause!
Thank you for what you are doing to help Kami’s school and all the terrific kids she and her staff are devoting their lives to encourage and support. I know it will be a fabulous evening and I’m sending you and our fans all the love in the world.

We’ve received word from Richard Thomas that he regrets that he will not be able to personally attend the event as he had planned. He has received a starring role in Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People” on Broadway. Previews will begin Sept. 4 with opening night slated for Sept. 27 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on 47th Street NY, NY.

We are currently working on plans to have Richard join us remotely and are expecting his son, Rich Thomas Jr. to represent him. We will certainly miss having Richard in person, but we are very happy that he will be appearing on Broadway, and will still be able to ‘virtually’ spend a few moments with us.
